"Promoting Truth and Common Sense in Accreditation"

About Us

The Foundation for Integrity in Distance Learning Accreditation (FIDLA) is a private, nonprofit, membership association owned and operated by its member institutions.

We grant accreditation to member institutions based on standards created by and agreed to by our members.

The questions are:

  • By what processes can adult students (not teenagers) learn the most from their studies?
  • How do we validate that learning among adult students has actually taken place?
  • What kind of credential should be granted that is appropriate to the level of learning achieved?
Our accreditation standards focus on an institution's answers to these three questions and then validating that the accredited institution, in fact, adheres to these standards.

In the age of the internet, the only input that matters is access to the internet and the possession of computer skills by adult students.  Campuses don't matter, buildings don't matter, clerical employees don't matter, sports teams don't matter.

All that matters is the adult student and providing the adult student with the necessary structure and guidance to maximize their independent learning.

Please contact us if you have questions about our standards or our members.
